Ubirajara Fidalgo (June 22, 1949 – July 3, 1986) was a Brazilian

Ubirajara Fidalgo started his career yet teenager in his hometown Caxias municipality in the state of the
Maranhão and died inRio de Janeiro on 3 July, 1986.In 1968, at the age of 18, he moved to Rio de Janeiro where he studied theatrical interpretation at the
Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro . In 1970, he served as director and lead actor in theWilliam Shakespeare playOtello , at Theater Thereza Rachel. Othello was the first assembly of TEPRON, whose subsequent plays were "The Lapa's Doll," "The Gazeteiros", among others.The philosophy of the TEPRON was the staging of texts related to political and social issues and especially the problems and conflicts of the afro-descendants in the
Brazilian society .The TEPRON was the first Afro-Brazilian theater company in Rio de Janeiro, and the second in Brazil, after the 'Black Experimental Theater' ("Teatro Experimental do Negro") founded by
Abdias do Nascimento .Ubirajara Fidalgo was married to a former model Alzira Fidalgo and had one daughter, Sabrina Fidalgo.
