=Football career=
Red Kelin was an
American Football coach during the second half of the 20th century. Known for his defensive knowledge, Kelin became a well respected football coach throughout his career. Some of his coaching positions included Head Coach atArthur L. Johnson High School in Clark, New Jersey, as well as assistant coaching positions at the collegiate level atColgate University ,University of Connecticut , andBoston College . At the professional level, Kelin served as the Defensive Coordinator for theBarcelona Dragons , who were members of theNFL Europe , which folded following the 2007 season.While at BC, Kelin served as Defensive Coordinator and helped lead the Eagles to a victory in the 1984 Cotton Bowl. Notable players on the team included
Heisman Trophy winnerDoug Flutie ,Bill Romanowski , andGerard Phelan . During that Season, BC defeated Miami in the magicalHail Flutie game on a last second Hail Mary pass to secure a spot in the Cotton Bowl.Notable Coaches that Kelin coached with or coached include
