- Mietinen Young
Mietinen Young was a fisherman and explorer in the early 1400s. He lead a ship of three families the Young, Lindres and Cox families. In circa 1438 they accidentally crashed ashore of the Hudson Bay.
He drew various maps of the eastern portion of the
Hudson Bay , Although some maps have not been matched to an exact location they all appear to be from the Hudson bay referring to it as three sections the North Sea, Fisher Sea, and South Bay. The North Sea being the Ocean aboveSouthampton Island and theHudson Strait , The Hudson Bay as Fisher Sea and theJames Bay as South Bay.
