New South Wales ,Australia .The Tumut River rises on the northern face of
Mount Jagungal in theSnowy Mountains of southernNew South Wales . It flows about 145km before joining theMurrumbidgee River , at Darbalara near the town of Gundagai. The natural flow of the river is amplified by water transferred from theTooma River andLake Eucumbene by theSnowy Mountains Scheme .Between
Cabramurra andTumut , a series of five dams and four hydro-electric power stations harness the flow of the river. These include Tumut Power Station andBlowering Dam andTalbingo Dam ee also
