The 1982 Australian GT Championship season was the first season of the revived Australian GT Championship. It was open to GT and Sports Sedan cars complying with CAMS Group D & Group B regulations respectively. Unlike the previous one-race event, the format was changed to a full season of races. Nine rounds were conteseted from May 16 to October 10, 1982.

Results

Points were awarded on a 9-6-4-3-2-1 basis to the top six finishers in each round. All scores counted towards the championship.
