The "Étoile" ("star") was a 44-gun of the French Navy.
She sailed with the "Sultane" as a commerce raider. On 24 January 1814, the French squadron met with the frigates HMS "Astra" and HMS "Creole".
While returning from the Cape Verde Islands, she was captured on 27 March 1814 by the frigate HMS "Hebrus" and the brig HMS "Sparrow". She was recommissioned in the Royal Navy as HMS "Topaze"
