Tom Morton-Smith

Thomas Edward Morton-Smith, (born January 5, 1980) is an English playwright.

Morton-Smith, originally from Exeter, grew up in East Grinstead. He studied Drama at the University of East Anglia before training as an actor at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art.

In 2001 his play "Black Boxes & Amber Rooms" was selected to appear at the National Student Drama Festival and was performed at the Stephen Joseph Theatre.

In 2006 he was selected to be part of Future Perfect, a writer's group attached to Paines Plough theatre company. In 2007 he joined the company as their playwright-in-residence.

His debut stage play, Salt Meets Wound, premiered at Theatre 503 in May 2007.

His one act play, "The Hygiene Hypothesis", previewed at Theatre 503 before appearing at the Latitude Festival in July 2007. His short play, "Rodeo", had appeared at the 2006 Latitude Festival as part of a selection of shorts produced by the Royal Court Theatre.
