The shell is of moderate size, narrowly ovate, with the nucleus very near to the anterior end at all stages of growth, varying between one tenth and one twenty-seventh from the anterior end.
Coloration of the exterior is bluish-white, heavily blotched with light-brown, in the form of irregular broad radial streaks that frequently , leaving elongated patches of the pale ground colour. The interior is pale amber, with the dark-brown external pattern showing through.
Length is up to 57.5 mm, width up to 45 mm, and height 20 mm.
