Roger Hertog is an American businessman,
financier and conservativephilanthropist . Born and raised inThe Bronx , Hertog pursued a career in business but became progressively interested in political magazines and journals. He is a part owner ofThe New York Sun , former part-owner ofThe New Republic , a board member of "Commentary". He has also been heavily involved with various right-wingthink tank s: Hertog is a chairman emeritus of theManhattan Institute and board member of theAmerican Enterprise Institute and theClub for Growth . He also helped found theShalem Center inIsrael . Moreover, Hertog has been a supporter of arts and culture in New York City and has held various responsibilities in theNew-York Historical Society , theNew York Public Library , theMetropolitan Museum of Art and theNew York Philharmonic . American presidentGeorge W.
