David Ruhe

David Ruhe (January 3, 1914 in Allentown, United States – September 6, 2005 near Newburgh, New York) served as a member of the Universal House of Justice, the supreme governing body of the Bahá'í Faith, between 1968 and 1993.

Biography

Mr. David Ruhe received a Bachelor of Science from Michigan State College in 1936, a Master of Science in 1937, and an Medical Doctor degree from Temple University in 1941, where he was awarded an honorary Doctor of Sciences degree in 1956. After studies he began as an intern at United States Public Health Service in 1941 and advanced to become senior surgeon in 1956. He served on the National Spiritual Assembly of the Bahá'ís of the United States from 1963 to 1968, when he was elected to the Universal House of Justice, replacing the late Lutfu'lláh Hakím.
