Sairam Iyer is an Indian singer, based in Mumbai, India.

Career

Iyer was influenced by Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhonsle.

Iyer has been complimented for his dual voice singing ability by music directors in the Hindi film world, such as Naushad, Laxmikant Pyarelal and Kalyanji Anandji (for whose "Little Wonders" Sairam has sung on various occasions). For over 10 years, Iyer has performed Semi classical and Light music with ease. The roots of his success, Sairam says, go back to the family support he received, and his tutelage under Pandit Shri Pradeep Chatterjee and Pandit Shri Dhruva Ghosh at the Sangeet Mahabharati Institution, where he did Diploma in Hindustani Classical Vocal Music.Fact|date=November 2007 Iyer has also done a diploma in light vocal music from the University of Mumbai under the tutelage of music directors Shri Kamlakar Bhagwat and Shri Achyut Thakur.Fact|date=November 2007 Iyer was a student of the late Pandit Ramesh Nadkarni, and won awards at music competitions at different levels (college, university, zonal and national).Fact|date=November 2007 Iyer participated in the Mumbai University's music choir under the choir conductor Late Kanu Ghosh and, subsequently, was chosen to conduct the choir by Shri Ghosh. Live Performances

Iyer has performed in more than 1500 venues throughout India, the United Kingdom, the United States, South America, Canada, West Asia, West Indies, and the Far East.Fact|date=November 2007 He has also performed at music and dance festivals.

*Madras Dance and Music festival.
*Sir John Coltrane's Music festival - Los Angeles where he performed with the guitarist Carlos Santana and Alice Coltrane, John Coltrane's pianist wife.
*Spirit of Unity festival held at Vishakapatnam,Shirdi and Srikakulam.

Madonna attended Iyer's performance of Sairam at Los Angeles in 1998, where he performed with the Shahrukh Khan, Akshay Kumar, Juhi Chawla, Kajol and others.
