Neptunes WPSC
The Neptunes squad, winners of Maltese First Division

Neptunes WPSC is a leading water polo club from San Giljan in Malta. Founded in 1929, it has won all the major water polo honours in its coveted history. One of its most notable coaches was Italian Gianni Lonzi.

The club has won two summer leagues on the trot in 2006 and 2007 under Croatian coach Sergio Afric. In 2007 Maltese clubs were allowed to sign a foreign player and Neptune's choice was the Serbian captain Vladimir Vujasinovic. Recently one of the club's young talents Stevie Camilleri joined VK Partizan on a six-month loan deal after being suggested to the club officials by Vladimir Vujasinovic. The club has other very promising youngsters like Sean Gravina, Timmy Aguis, Ryan Sciortino and Jordan Cammileri who is Stevie Camilleri's younger brother.

The club makes its pools available (at a price of course) to a swimming school. The pools are dominated all day by the instructures and students. It is also true to note, that many people have complained of infections after swimming in these pools. This is probably due to their overpopulation and exessive use. In fact, it is also a pity that this club has now degenerated into a lido. The same problem has been encountered with the childrens' pool, additional problems here were rough playing by 12 to 20 year olds while small children were swimming there. This rough playing includes the throwing of hard waterpolo balls from one end of this childrens' pool to the other. Waterpolo balls also end up in this pool from the adults' (big) pool, despite a temporary preventive net being set up. Thes balls naturally also end up on a sunbather occasionally!

Charitable work

The team organised a fund raising activity to help the severely disabled people in Malta. People who benefited from this activity include Bekii Azzoppardi and Maresca Demanuele.
