Ibrahim Sirkeci

Dr İbrahim Sirkeci (born 1972, Izmir, Turkey) lives in London and works as a Senior Lecturer at the European Business School London. He has written several books and many articles on international migration, internal migration, population movements, labour market, ethnic conflict, and minorities.
Ibrahim Sirkeci also writes a weekly column for Turkish daily newspaper Birgun.
His research focused on ethnicity, segregation, labour markets, conflict, international migration with particular reference to minorities in the UK, Turkish, Kurdish migration to Germany, Turkey and Iraq. Career

İbrahim Sirkeci received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Bilkent University, Ankara and a PhD in Human Geography from the University of Sheffield.
Prior to joining the European Business School London, Sirkeci previously worked as a Leverhulme Research Fellow at the Centre for the Study of Ethnicity and Citizenship, University of Bristol, [cite web| last =| first =| authorlink =| coauthors =| title =Bristol University: Sociology: Center for Ethnicity & Citizenship: Members | work =| publisher =University of Bristol| date =| url =http://www.bristol.ac.uk/sociology/ethnicitycitizenship/urcmembers.html| format =| doi =| accessdate =2007-11-16 ] and also as Assistant Professor at Atilim University, Ankara, Turkey. He is the managing editor of "Migration Letters" journal, an international scholarly journal of population and migration studies. His most recent book, "The Environment of Insecurity in Turkey and the Emigration of Turkish Kurds to Germany", was published by Edwin Mellen Press in 2006.
