All-Clad Metalcrafters are manufacturers of premium cookware.
All-Clad was established in
1968 after founder John Ulam discovered a unique process that usesheat andpressure to bond differentmetals into “sandwiched” sheets. Thispatented “roll-bonding” process is the basis for most of All-Clad's products, and allows cookware produced in this way to distribute heat evenly and efficiently. The All-Clad Stainless series of cookware sandwiches a thick core of three separate layers of aluminum between an easy-to-clean, highly polished 18/10 stainless steel cooking surface and a magnetic stainless steel exterior. The aluminum core retains heat and evenly distributes it along the bottom and up the sidewalls of the cookware, and runs all the way up to the lip of the utensil. Additionally, handles are attached with stainless steelrivets . All-Clad's products helped inspire interest in high endconsumer cookware in theUnited States in spite of the relatively high cost of its products. All Clad originally started out as All Clad Metals and produced bonded metals for the aerospace, automotive and shipbuilding industry. In 2000 All Clad started producing cookware for
