extrasolar planet approximately 1,000light-year s away in theconstellation of Phoenix. The planet was discovered orbiting thestar WASP-4 in October of 2007. The planet's mass and radius indicate that it is agas giant , similar toJupiter . WASP-4b is close enough to its star to be classified as ahot Jupiter and has an atmospheric temperature of approximately 1761 K.The planet was the first discovered by the WASP project using cameras in
