Theodore Brameld

Theodore Brameld

Theodore Brameld (1904-1987) was an American educator, b. Neillsville, Wis., grad. Ripon College, 1926; Ph.D. Univ. of Chicago, 1931. Brameld was best known for his theory of reconstructionism, which received widespread attention in educational circles. He held that a system of public education that is aware of the findings of the behavioral sciences can bring about fundamental changes in the social and economic structure of society.
