Castle Pines Village is an unincorporated community in Douglas County, Colorado, United States. Castle Pines Village is situated 21 miles (34 km) south-southeast of the Colorado State Capitol in Denver. The community surrounds the Castle Pines Golf Club and the Country Club at Castle Pines.

History

Castle Pines Village was founded as a gated residential community by Jack A. Vickers, and lies at an elevation of 6,000 to 6,500 feet along the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains. It is the northern-most incidence of tablelands along the front-range with views of Pikes Peak, Mount Evans and the Rocky Mountains.[3]

The Castle Pines Golf Club founded by Jack A. Vickers and designed by Jack Nicklaus opened in 1981. The International professional golf tournament was an annual PGA Tour event held at Castle Pines Golf Club from 1986 through 2006.[4]

Government and services

Castle Pines Village is an unincorporated area of Douglas County, Colorado, represented by a county commissioner. Incorporation has been proposed.[1] The Castle Pines Homes Association ("CPHA") manages the community through a five-member board of directors. CPHA is funded through dues and assessments from residents.[5] The Castle Pines Metropolitan District ("CP MET"), established in 1973, provides water, wastewater treatment, operation and maintenance of street improvements and storm drainage services to Castle Pines Village. CP MET is also governed by an elected five-member board of directors.[6] Police and fire services are provided by Castle Pines Village's in-house Emergency Services department, which supplements the services provided by Douglas County and the South Metro Fire Rescue Authority.[7]

Castle Pines Village is located at 39°26′27″N 104°53′55″W / 39.440709°N 104.898695°W / 39.440709; -104.898695 (39.440709, -104.898695)[8], and is situated 21 miles (34 km) south-southeast of the Colorado State Capitol in Denver. The community surrounds the Castle Pines Golf Club and the Country Club at Castle Pines.

Transportation

Castle Pines Village is located west of Interstate 25. The city is served by Denver International Airport and nearby Centennial Airport.
