Adam Maxwell (born October 24, 1976) is an English writer. He has a degree in English Studies and a Masters degree in Creative Writing.

Writing Style

Adam Maxwell's subject matter tends towards the surreal or at least the very least weird. His work is often peppered with references to popular culture and he tends towards finding humor in strange places. Maxwell adopts a relatively minimalist approach to writing which is often echoed in the length of his stories. His longer works tend to use this brevity to drive the story forward with a frenetic pace. His writing style is hard to pinpoint and as a result has been published in a plethora of publications and genres including fiction, semi-fiction, non-fiction and working with illustrators on children’s stories to name but a few. He has been published widely in both print and online including in Dave Eggers’ McSweeney's and his writing has been described in the press as a ‘Chandler-esque hard-boiled cocktail, stirred with equal parts humour, mystery, gut-wrenching realism, and trademark minimalism’ [Chris Steib - [http://www.buyafriendabook.com/ Buy A Friend A Book] ] , ‘weird, wonderful, twisted and witty’ [Modart Magazine] and even ‘almost Fawlty Towers’ [Pulp.net] which is, unsurprisingly, one of his favourites.
