J. B. Smoove (born Jerry Brooks May 16, 1964Fact|date=August 2008) is an award-winning American actor and writer best known for his role as Leon Black on "Curb Your Enthusiasm". He has also had recurring roles on "Everybody Hates Chris" and "Saturday Night Live"; on "SNL", he worked as a writer and was a recipient of the 2007 Writers Guild of America award for Best Comedy/Variety Series (Including Talk). Smoove's films include "With or Without You", "Pootie Tang", "Mr. Deeds", and the upcoming "Frankenhood". He has a recurring role on the sitcom "'Til Death" with Brad Garrett and Joely Fisher. In June 2008, he taped several episodes of "The Gong Show with Dave Attell" as one of the celebrity judges. Smoove also played different parts on "Cedric the Entertainer Presents".
