Swords Rovers F.C.|Swords RoversPaul O'Driscoll (born
5 November 1957 ,Kinsale inCounty Cork ) is a former semi professional footballer, playing forCobh Ramblers andUCC A.F.C. and now is a distinguished coach and manager withinIreland .Early life
As a youngster he had 2 main passions, football and hurling. He played football for the local team Kinsale F.C and later moved on to play for UCC A.F.C. before going back to finish his playing career at Kinsale F.C. He was scouted for Cork City in the mid 1970's but was unable to attend their trials as he had no means of transport. Although he had the opportunity to be a top hurler for Cork, his passion for football had become far superior. He played out the rest of his days for Kinsale F.C where he later started his budding coaching career. As a player he was noted for his tough tackling, aerial ability and never say die attitude.
Coaching career
As a coach he quickly rose through the ranks catching the attention of many top figures in Ireland as well as England. He was offered coaching jobs on numerous occasions within the
FAI but rejected the contract on each occasion as he thought he could make a bigger difference at schoolboy level. Later in his coaching career he moved to Dublin where he thought he could make the biggest difference and since then has become manager for a local team as well as becoming a youth development officer for the FAI.
