Booktrust Early Years Awards

Booktrust Early Years Awards

The Booktrust Early Years Awards, formerly known as the Sainsbury’s Baby Book Award, are a series of literary prizes for children's picture books awarded annually. The prize is administered by Booktrust, an independent charity which promotes books and reading; prior to 2004 it was sponsored by the supermarket chain Sainsbury's.

There are currently three categories: the "Baby Book Award", the "Pre-School Award", and the "Best Emerging Illustrator Award". The winners of each category receive £2000, with the Emerging Illustrator also receiving a specially commissioned award. The publishers of the winning books are each given an award as well.
