Zika Nester

Zika Nester is the Principal of The Ensemble Studios at Sydney's Ensemble Theatre.

Nester was born in China to Russian parents, and moved from Shanghai to Sydney in 1953, taking lessons from Hayes Gordon in 1956 in Method Acting which Gordon acquired from Lee Strasberg in New York, the school which bred the likes of Marlon Brando, James Dean and Dustin Hoffman.

Alumni of the Ensemble Studios include Jack Thompson, Henry Szeps, Reg Livermore, Lorraine Bayly, Denise Roberts, Dee Smart, Michael Ross, Don Reid, Sandra Bates, Angela Bennie, Doug Anderson and Justin Fleming.
