Samuel Russell (Yale co-founder)

Reverend Samuel Russell (b. November 4 1660, d. June 24 1731 (McCracken 1980)) was one of the founders of Yale University. (Kelley 1974, p8}) He was born in Hadley, Massachusetts, graduated from Harvard College and was ordained in 1687. He settled in Deerfield, Massachusetts and moved to Branford, Connecticut where he officiated and died. The founders of Yale University met in his study in Branford to contribute their books to the founding of the University.
