Erich Fronhöfer (27 December 1895 – 12 January 1970) was a German general, who served in both World Wars.

Life

Fronhöfer was born in Ragaischen, East Prussia. He served in the Imperial German Army, the Reichswehr, and the Wehrmacht Heer.

Fronhöfer served in World War I, e.g. with the Infanterie-Regiment 34. In 1935, he joined the Wehrmacht with the rank of a Major. As a Generalmajor, he was captured on May 4 1945 near Schwerin and was held as a prisoner of war by American troops until May 18 1948.

Fronhöfer died in Dortmund.
