- Renfrewshire Cup
The "Renfrewshire Cup" is an annual pre-season competition between teams in the Renfrewshire area, however the final is almost always between the two largest teams, St Mirren and Morton.
The cup is currently with St. Mirren, after they defeated Morton on penalties.
The number of times each team has won the event:
Morton - 51;
St Mirren - 50;
Abercorn - 5;
Port Glasgow Athletic - 5;
Arthurlie - 2; Thornliebank - 1; Babcock & Wilcox - 1;Bellaire - 1.This is the second oldest trophy in
Scotland still competed for. Only theScottish Cup is older and still contested.Each tournament is contested by four teams : Morton, St Mirren and the finalists of an amateur tournament,the Victoria Cup. The Victoria Cup finalists meet Morton or St Mirren in the semi finals of the Renfrewshire Cup.
You have to go back to 1991 for the last time an amateur team won a semi, on this occasion Greenock based Bellaire defeated St Mirren 1-0 at Love St in one of the biggest shocks of the tournament's history.
