"Leuconopsis obsoleta" is a species of minute air-breathing land snail, a terrestrial pulmonate gastropod mollusc in the family Ellobiidae.

Distribution

This species is endemic to New Zealand including the Chatham Islands.

Habitat

This snail lives in the high tidal zone, under stones and amongst sea grass in muddy situations.

Description

The shell is minute, dull white beneath a very thin pale brown periostracum, and the surface is finely spirally striated.

The radula consists of an inverted Y-shaped central tooth with one large main cusp, 39 laterals, each of which has two long cusps, and 16 marginals each with three long cusps.

Height is up to 3 mm, and the width is up to 1.7 mm.
