Philippine Science High School Cagayan Valley Campus

The Philippine Science High School Cagayan Valley Campus is a campus of the Philippine Science High School System, a special public high school that caters to scientifically- and mathematically-gifted high school students from all over Luzon. It is located in Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya, inside Nueva Vizcaya State University.

Sections

Some 70 students of the Second Screening (Math and Science Aptitude Test/MSAT) have slots already in this Campus. They are then divided into 3 sections with 22 students and above in each section. After the first year of the batch, slots emptied by dismissed students are then filled up by new students who were qualified by a placement exam given to students who belong in the top % of their batch in another school. Afterwards, the remaining students are the only ones left who can graduate at the Campus.Students from the Main Campus may transfer to other campuses. Students from the regional campuses may apply for transfer to the Main Campus. However, they must meet a grade requirement.The Cagayan Valley Campus has around 30 students in each class, with 3 classes per batch, in a total of about 90 students in each year level. The names of the sections in each year level are in accordance to a theme based on the major subject offered in that particular year level.

"Rating Scale for Character Profile"3.)Director's Lister(DL) A scholar who earns a general weighted average(GWA) of at least 1.5 at the end of each quarter is included in an honor roll known as the "Director's List". Scholars who qualify for the Director's List shall be awarded certificates during the Card Giving Day of each quarter.

The PSHS MISSION The Philippine Science High School, operating under one System of governance and management, provides scholarships to students with high aptitude in Science and Mathematics. The PSHS offers an education that is humanistic in spirit, global in perspective and patriotic in orientation. It is based on a curriculum that emphasizes Science and Mathematics and the development of well-rounded individuals.

Transferring

Philippine Science High School- Cagayan Valley Campus is in NVSIT compound for about 10 years now. The construction in Masoc, Bayombong is almost done. It is decided that by next year, Pisay- CVC will be transferring to its permanent place.
