Alan Dawley

Alan Dawley

Alan Dawley was a professor of history at The College of New Jersey.

Dawley was a 1965 graduate of Oberlin College. He then completed his M.A. (1966) and Ph.D. (1971) at Harvard University. He then joined the faculty of the College of New Jersey.

Accessed November 6, 2007.] He has received many other honors and has had many visiting appointments.

He wrote mainly on the US Progressive Era. He died in Mexico on March 12, 2008 of a heart attack.
