shrub which is endemic toAustralia . It grows up to 4 metres in height and flowers between August and December (mid winter to early summer) in its native range. These have a fawn perianth and maroon or red styles with green tips. It occurs on ridges in a restricted area within the north-eastern suburbs ofSydney in woodland-heath.The species was first formally described by botanist Robert Brown, his description published in "Supplementum primum prodromi florae Novae Hollandiae" in 1830.
