Galatás (Greek: Γαλατάς, meaning
milkman ), is a town located in the eastern part of the peninsula of thePeloponnese . It is the seat of the municipality ofTroizina . It is one of the easternmost municipalities on the peninsula. It is located on a road connecting the rest of the Peloponnese:Argolis andLigouri and Galatas and the road to Ermioni and Kranidi. It is located East of ancientTroezen , South East ofLigouri , North East ofKranidi andErmioni and South West ofMethana . Its twin town, the island city ofPoros , is only 50 m away.ubdivisions

Historical population
Galatas is a small mainland town it has a new high school, medical center, a church, banks and a new sea front area ("
plateia ") overlooking Poros Island. Galatas connects to the island of Poros with small boats (water taxi's). In ancient times, a sump was between Galatas and Poros. Galatas also has many independent shops some businesses and plenty of tavernas.Until the 1960s, the area was home to many goats that produced milk and cheese and gave it the name Galatas (meaning milk fields)
The area is beautiful. The mountain range Anderes overlooks the Saronic Gulf and the Athens coastline.It is fast becoming a popular place to build homes and development is higher now than that of Poros.
