TJMS is part of the Vancouver School District and is located immediately adjacent to the Felida Elementary School. The school is located in the heart of the Felida area of
Vancouver, Washington . The enrollment at the school was 833 students during the 2006 school year. The school's first principal is Marianne Thompson and the Associate Principals are Mark Cain and Anita Chase.The school's nickname is "The Explorers." As a middle school, students compete academically and in sports activities against other middle schools in the surrounding area. During these competitions, students compete under either the TJMS name or as "The Explorers".
