Kirk Jarvinen (born 1967 in Detroit,
Michigan ) is an Americanartist /illustrator best known for hiscartoon -stylecomic book art.Raised in
Michigan , Jarvinen became a professional comic artist and worked for a number of major publishers including Northstar,Fantagraphics , Malibu,DC Comics andMarvel Comics . He gained attention aspenciller for a four issue mini-series story for DC's "Aquaman ", in collaboration with writer,Peter David . The "Aquaman :Time and Tide" series was later collected into atrade paperback (comics) .Jarvinen is also credited as the co-creator of the
Marvel Comics Hulk character, "Lazarus", withPeter David , and aDC Comics Green Lantern character, "Torquemada", withRon Marz .Other published credits to the Jarvinen name include a series of Golden Books produced by
Random House , under theAmazing Spider-Man name.In 2001, Kirk Jarvinen married Pamela Milliron in a Las Vegas wedding ceremony, complete with costumed attendants and dressed in comic book attire as the
Jack Kirby /Stan Lee character ofThor (Marvel Comics) . Three years later Kirk was re-introduced to comics, as the penciller, artist forMoonstone Books ' comic book adaptation of "", entitled Kolchak: Tales of the Night Stalker. In addition to Kirk's talents amongst the comic world, he has designed numerous action figures for theKenner Hasbro family and recently developed a personal line of animated figures for a nationally recognised teen focused retailer, to be released in August 2006. With the reinvention of his cartooning career, Kirk Jarvinen has spent considerable time as a guest at regional comic book shows, including those held in his current home ofPortland, Oregon .----External links
