There are several types of this small Japanese clump forming grass. The aureola form is a gold striped and lime green grass, which fades to pink in autumn. These is also a green form (simply known as hakonechloa macra) and the variegated form alboaurea. The Royal Horticultural Society have given the aureola form their prestigious Award of Garden Merit (AGM).
