Stacey Cook (born
July 3 ,1984 inTruckee, California ) is an elite member of the U.S. Ski Team's alpine skiing program. Cook started skiing at 4 with her father at variousLake Tahoe ski areas and raced in the low-key Buddy Werner League events run by Truckee's rec department. She was a member of the 2006U.S. Olympic Team , competing in Torino, Italy and was also a member of the 2007 World Championships Team. She has competed in two Junior World Championships.Career Highlights
2004 - Overall and downhill champion with four wins in downhill
2005 - NorAm super G runner-up with two wins
2006 - Competed in first
Olympic Winter Games finishing 19th in downhill and 23rd in giant slalom. The event was held in Torino, Italy. She was also the U.S. super G champion later that year.2007 - Was selected to her first
FIS Alpine World Ski Championships finishing 16th in downhill. The event was held in Are, SwedenInjuries
2005 - Suffered a concussion and injured her right knee in a January crash, sidelining her for parts of the last half of the season.
