York Stream

York Stream

York Stream is the centre of a system of disused waterways in Maidenhead, Berkshire, England, UK.

The stream connects to the River Thames. The inlets are in the region of Cookham Lock, and the main outlet just below Bray Lock.

A renewal scheme is in progress (October 2007) to reopen these waterways, and the Maidenhead Waterways Restoration Group (MWRG) was founded in 2006 with a view to restoring the waterways to navigable standard.

Maidenhead Civic Society is also concerned in the restoration of the waterways.
