The Global Accounting Alliance (GAA) is an international accounting coalition of accounting bodies that was formed in 2006.
The GAA aims to promote quality professional services, support that global membership, share information and collaborate on international accounting issues. The members of the alliance represent over 700,000 of professional accountants.
The GAA provides members with mutual recognition agreements with member bodies so they can access restricted areas of the local institute website, networking opportunities, training and development, and publications at member rates when visiting their country. The Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia (the Institute) is the only Australian accounting body within the alliance and was one of the founding members.
