Bob Greaves is a former reporter and presenter for
Granada Television between 1963 and 1999. He was born on28 November ,1934 in Sale, formerly inCheshire , nowGreater Manchester , and educated at the local Sale Boys' Grammar School, but did not attend university. A journalist, he started on the local newspaper, theSale and Stretford Guardian , and later on theNottingham Evening News and theManchester Daily Mail . He was the main anchor of "Granada Reports " and presented many local programmes such as "Scramble" and "Family Trees". Outside of Granada, he is best remembered for a clip on "It'll Be Alright on the Night " when an elephant began 'investigating' his privates atChester Zoo in 1981.Now retired, Bob lives in
Altrincham , Cheshire, and has been married four times. On17 January ,2008 , he appeared on theBBC One daytime programme "Wanted Down Under", in which he visited the coastal city of Cairns inQueensland , Australia with his fourth wife, Sonia, a Naturopathic counsellor, and contemplated a permanent move there.
