Alejo Lascano Bahamonde

Alejo Lacano Bahamonde (1840–1904) graduated as doctor-surgeon in July 17, of 1864 in the Sorbona of Paris. Alejo Lascano brought the first forceps to Ecuador and founded the Medicine Faculty in Guayaquil,Ecuador.

Early years

Alejo lascano was born in Manabi, Ecuador Legitimate son of Jose Francisco Lascano ,(accumulated exporting retailer of straw hats toquilla) Josefa Bahamonde Gracés, Both Were Wealthy Guayaquileños.Alejo left Guayaquil in February 1, 1857 and entered the Medicine School of Paris, considered the first scientific center of the world, devoting itself to the study with kind character and glad ways with professor Geienau de Mussy.

After Finishing school in the Lauguier Clinic of Paris and turning the seven years of study prescribed, He obtained the Medicine Doctorate and Surgery in July 17, 1864 and His thesis deserved the most highly favourable commentaries of Professor Jacoub.

Alejo Was 24 years of age when he returned to his mother country and as in Guayaquil still a Medicine Faculty did not exist,On 1867 He founded and organize the Facultad de Medicina del Guayas.He was so great with customers, Customers were trusting and hopeful to Doctor Alejo, that he became the first doctor of the city, for that reason in the 1869 Garcia Moreno appointed Alejo Doctor for Life of the Hospital Civil de Guayaquil.

Final Years

He was a therapeutic, chemical pharmacology and Biology, connoisseur deep, as well as in botany.Alejo had a slow cancer to the stomach, December 3, 1904 He entered agony at seven at night and passed away at nine, after lengths and cruel sufferings, Doctor Alejo Lascano Bahamonde died at the age of 64.Alejo's body rest in a sumptuous Mausoleum in the General Cemetery of Guayaquil.
