Nicolas De Santis (born Madrid 18 March 1966) is the Secretary General of Gold Mercury International, a non-profit, think tank and award organisation founded in 1961. Based in London, Gold Mercury specialises in global governance and ethical leadership.
During the 1990s he developed and launched the high profile and controversial project Captain Euro, Europe’s superhero[citation needed]. The project was created to analyse the perceptions and emotions of Europeans regarding federalism and European identity.
As an internet entrepreneur he has launched several internet start ups including beenz.com (the first internet currency system) and opodo the online travel portal owned by the major airlines of Europe[citation needed]. He sits on the boards of several companies including U.S. public company Lyris, an e-marketing solutions leader[citation needed]. Nicolas De Santis is the son of famous Spanish actress Maria Cuadra and film producer Eduardo De Santis.
