European Masters Games

European Masters Games

European Masters Games (EMG) is a multisport competition for (mainly) people 35 years or older. The very first games will be held in Malmö, Sverige from 29 August through 7 September 2008.

The European Masters Sports Association (EMSA) is the European organisation who is responsible for the bidding and placing of the games. In 2008 Malmö Stad (The city of Malmoe) in cooperation with Skånes idrottsförbund (the regional sports federation) has been awarded the games.

International organisation

The European games are in close relationship with the International Masters Games Association (IMGA, owner of the World Masters Games), which is recognised by the International Olympic Committee, and which through the European Masters Sports Association embody the Olympic ideal that sport is a human right for people of all ages regardless of race, social class, gender and economic circumstance.
