Our society lacks the active participation of youngsters, a very necessary element for the progress of a community. Very few young people who do have the will to contribute to their community lack the abilities, methods and the necessary information to realize their own ideas. This is one of the main issues that this project would like to tackle and calm down. The project aims to provide young people with knowledge, abilities and practices that they need to be active members in their community. This will be achieved through “Learn through participation”. Youngsters will learn how their actions like voting, participation, addressing to certain issues and undertaking of community actions may help them to change things.“Civic project” aims to promote active citizenship by providing opportunities to the youngsters to get involved in concrete actions. This project is a good practice that allows the Albanian youngsters to attain their civic education by integrating their knowledge and abilities in projects and actions that would really help their community, develop social responsibility and promote citizenship participation. The project fulfils the participating needs of the youngsters by developing entertaining and practical experiences, designed by them. Through this activity, we want to create the model of an active youngster who has the will and desire to create, change and improve things for the benefit of his community by joining his forces and sharing his ideas with the others in a project with common aims. It will provide the youngsters with the ability to widen their knowledge on the community needs, teach how to identify and design a project how to apply for it and how to collect funds.Civic project is and effective practice that allows the Albanian youngsters to realize their civic education, by integrating their knowledge and abilities in concrete projects and actions, aiming to really help their community. These actions do also develop social responsibilities and promote civic participation. The project meets the needs of the youngsters to participate and develop skills and practical experiences, designed by the youngsters themselves. Through this Civic Project, the youngsters will have the opportunity to widen their knowledge on the community needs, will learn how to identify and create a project, how to apply and how to collect funds. It also offers many communication opportunities for the volunteers with the partner organizations and institutions like the Tirana Municipality, “Mjaft” movement, “ECO-MOVEMENT”, etc. The youngsters will have the necessary means to make their ideas concrete. They will have access on information, support and above all a clear idea of their role in the community. By increasing their abilities and giving the necessary access where they can act, the youngsters will be more productively engaged in the improvement of the community life.
