- Romuald Rat
Romuald Rat is a British
Paparazzo who was one of the first on the scene when ex-Princess Diana died inParis . It was alleged that, rather than stopping to help the princess, only minutes later, he transferred images of the dying ex-Princess to the picture editor ofThe Sun asking for £300,000. However, this account is now disputed. The source of allegation is Kenneth Lennox, the former picture editor of The Sun, who claimed that it was Romuald Rat who made that offer. However, giving evidence in person in the Diana Inquest, Kenneth Lennox accepted that the caller "was quite possibly not Mr Rat, as he had already been arrested by French police at the time of the call." Rat stated that the allegations are defamatory.
He refused to give evidence at the Diana Inquest in 2007. He wrote that he "was not prepared to give evidence by video link or at all, either today or any other day."
