Fannie Adler Greenberg (

Ottawa ,Canada , she married in 1913 and moved to the U.S. shortly thereafter. She was just a week younger than Mary J. Ray, currently the oldest Canadian-born person still living. A Buffalo woman, Olivia P. Thomas, is now the oldest New Yorker at 112 years and less than four months old, according to the gerontology group.For years she worked in a clothing store and was known for her fondness of jewelry. Her husband died in 1978. She moved to Regency Cove, an assisted-living facility in
Glen Cove, New York in 1998. At the time of her death, she was believed to be the oldest livingJew ish person in the world.In 2005, Greenberg was featured as the 50th and last person in the book 'Wisdom of the World's Oldest People' by Jerry Friedman, which featured recollections of persons aged 108 and older, both validated and unvalidated.
