"Aeolidiella faustina" is a rare species of sea slug, an aolid nudibranch, a marine gastropod mollusk in the family Aeolidiidae.

Distribution

This appears to be a very rare aeolid nudibranch: there have only been sporadic reportings in south eastern Australia, including Tasmania, and northeastern New Zealand.

Habitat

Specimens have been taken from silty sand at low water, and under a piece of timber below a pier at a depth of 4 m.

Description

The coloration is drab to pale yellow, and the body is covered in elongated papillae edged with brown.

The length is between 30 and 50 mm.
