Bishop Luffa School, named after a former Bishop of Chichester, Ralph de Luffa, is a coeducation Church of England secondary school in the City of Chichester, West Sussex, UK. The number of enrolled student stood at around 1,400 in 2006, in eight 'Year' house-forms and sixth form.

New classrooms

The school applied for planning permission for a drama studio to form the start of a new £2.5m creative arts centre for the schoolref|Building. The planning application was approved and the school started construction in August 2006. The drama studio was opened in February 2007. The new development was opposed by several neighbouring properties as they feel it may block out light and air however the council were reluctant to act ref|plans.

Further Education

There is a Sixth form in place at Bishop Luffa for students who wish to continue their education after the age of 16. Although Bishop Luffa pupils are given priority, pupils from other schools are also accepted. A wide variety of courses are available for students including Law (taught at nearby college), computing and economics amongst others. The grades required for acceptance are very high which reflects on the high standards set at this school. Four GCSE grades of B and above are required as well as at least one C.

Teaching aids

The majority of the school's classrooms are equipped with SMART boards to incorporate ICT into learning. The cost of a 'SMART board' setup is estimated to be at around £2,000. Many of the SMART boards have rendered the traditional whiteboard obsolete, in some cases resulting in them being completely removed.
