"Babakina caprinsulensis" is a species of aeolid nudibranch or sea slug, a gastropod mollusc in the Glaucidae family.

Distribution

This species is endemic to Leigh in the Hauraki Gulf, in the North Island of New Zealand.

Habitat

Under stones, in the sub-littoral fringe.

Description

The body is fairly broad and depressed, with a prominent ridge separating the back from the sides, and a very short tail. Its length is up to 17 mm.

Coloration of the body is mostly transparent below but speckled with purplish-pink above. The oral tentacles are tipped with yellow, the rhinophores (organs of smell) are orange-brown below, and the larger cerata are capped with yellowish-green.
