Ademar lo Negre [In his "vida", he is called "N'Aimars lo Negres" (Lord Aimar the Black). His name is also spelled "Azemar"("s") ( _fr. Ademar le Noir, _la. Adelmarus Niger).] was a
troubadour fromLanguedoc in the early thirteenth century (fl. 1210–1219). He was originally from fromChâteau-Vieux ("Castelveill"), which was under the jurisdiction of theTrencavel lords ofAlbi at the time. He was patronised byPeter II of Aragon andRaymond VI of Toulouse and even spent some time at the court ofFerdinand III of Castile . Four "cansos" of his survive.ources
