"Reel Life vol 1" is the third album by American alternative band Wild Colonials, released in 2000 (see 2000 in music).

Details

Reel Life vol 1 is a compilation featuring songs and score cues recorded and composed for various films. Over the previous six years since their debut album Fruit of Life in 1994, the bands music had been featured in over thirty films. Three members of the Wild Colonials, guitarist Shark, violinist Paul Cantelon and multi-instrumentalist Scott Roewe have each scored various feature films. The album features a score cue from each of them. Ten tracks on the album appear on CD for the first time. The album contains guest appearances from Dr. John, Cyndi Lauper and Shudder To Think. The album contains various cover versions of songs made famous by Tom Jones, The Grateful Dead, Muddy Waters and The Squirrel Nut Zippers. In 2000 the band toured the U.S. and in Britain acoustically. The first single, "Friend", became a #1 Radio Hit on AAA Radio in the US. No video was made for "Friend", but a video was made for the second single "Coy". A CD sampler featuring the five instrumentals was sent to NAV Radio stations in the US and did very well.
