Rokenbok

Rokenbok

The Rokenbok Toy Company was founded in 1995 by Paul Eichen to create a "Legacy Quality" toy system focused on creativity, imagination, and learning. The Rokenbok System aims to unite state-of-the-art technology with classic toy design and old-world values.

Rokenbok is an educational toy that combines a modular construction system with interactive radio-controlled vehicles. Rokenbok is an expandable system that can be added to and changed over time. Certain surfaces and platforms used in the Rokenbok constructions even have a round-stud surface, making the toy compatible with Legos. Rokenbok also features multiplayer. Up to four players can operate any of up to 8 vehicles simultaneously. There are currently 10 different manufactured vehicles. Players can operate a vehicle by themselves or they can share the vehicle with another player, capable of 4 players at once. Rokenbok is also intended to be non-violent by reinforcing non-violent, cooperative play patterns that engage children in a positive way. Rokenbok also does not utilize licensed characters or cartoons.

ROK and Chute Systems

Rokenbok contains an extensive, expandable, and creative ball/chute system. Rokenbok has [http://www.rokenbok.com/RO_Products/Accessories/AC_04731.asp motorized conveyors] that carry ROKS (the small blue and red balls included in Rokenbok sets) to various chute configurations. Rokenbok conveyors have optical sensors that have an automatic on off feature. ROKS are delivered to the conveyors by either unloading from Rokenbok RC vehicles, or from a chute. Almost every Rokenbok vehicle has ways of carrying ROKS. And Rokenbok vehicles can load and unload into various chute configurations. Conveyors carry ROKS up in an escalator like fashion and distributes them from an exit chute onto a location you choose, or a chute system leading somewhere else.

Controls

The Rokenbok Vehicles are controlled through up to four [http://www.rokenbok.com/RO_Products/Accessories/AC_04710.asp control pads] . The control pads consist of three sections, the left contains the directional pads that control the movement of the vehicles. On the center of each control pad is a button in which you press to cycle through available units and vehicles that can be controlled (Up to 8). Depending on the selected vehicle, the four buttons on the right enable the user from lifting cranes, turning on a siren, or unloading a truck bed.

The control pad has 10 possible commands. A "Control Pad", or D-Pad which has four directions: Up, Down, Left, And Right. There are also two shoulder buttons. Only the shoulder buttons and the Control Pad can be used on all vehicles. The A, B, X, and Y buttons have different funtions for each vehicle. The L Button will switch to the last vehicle you used; the R Button will slow the vehicle down.
