Andrea Lyn Kimmey (born August 17, 1978) is a Christian singer and performer of Contemporary Christian R&B, pop and gospel music in the Grammy-Nominated group Out of Eden.

Biography

Early life

Kimmey was born in Richmond, Virginia to Kent and Delice. Andrea has two sisters. Joy Danielle Kimmey and Lisa KimmeyWhen Kimmey was a child her parents separated and she moved with her mother and sisters. Delice married another man and it turned out he was not the ideal husband to say the least. A few years later Delice left the man and moved away with her daughters. Despite going through a lot of tough stuff, the family have experienced that their faith in God got stronger every day. Andrea was always told to read the bible. Delice would let Andrea and her sisters watch day-time TV to discuss the issues and try to prevent them from watching it. Her mother would tell Andrea and her sisters to walk up to a stranger on the streets and tell this person about God! Delice nearly got arrested one time in a mall for putting on a Christian skit. Andrea and her sisters were home schooled up till High School when they started going to a regular school. Andrea kept a distance from her classmates and their ways of life to live a life pleasing to God. She did not drink, smoke, swear and practiced abstinence before marriage. She even discontinued contact with friends that she thought might intrude with her faith in god. She has stated that she dislikes school proms and such activities because they do not reflect the life style she lives. Andrea is married to Drew Baca. They have one daughter and one son. Naia Joelle Baca (Born May 27, 2003)and Noel Baca(birth date not yet known)

Career

Out of Eden has been a group in over a decade. They have certainly gone through some ups and downs. When they started, their audience wasn't so happy about their genre. People at that time preferred old school Gospel. Some years later they lacked source of income and had to cancel a tour. It was not even certain the group would continue. They sang in Africa and for the US army,etc.

Controversies

The group has gained support as well as controversies for their strong faith. They feel strongly about doing ministry and performing modestly on stage. This does not only reach to their musical performances but also to their daily life. They feel they have a duty to live for God when they are not on stage too.

Andrea Kimmey-Baca lives in Nashville, Tennessee with her husband and daughter.
